Special Beer Release

Doppelgaenger™ [dop-uhl-gang-er] is a limited release special beer, brewed in the doppelbock style. Doppelbock is an extra-strength winter bock, first brewed by Catholic monks in Germany. Blacksburg Brewing Company’s Doppelgaenger™ is dark, exceptionally malty, and extra smooth. This full-bodied lager is 6.7% abv. The limited supply of Doppelgaenger™ (fewer than 1300L were brewed) will be available draft-only at a few BBC retail outlets beginning 01.12.2010. Participating retailers will be announced via the BBC Facebook Fan page.

Kollaborator

Three Virginia brewers, each with strong ties to German lager brewing, spent Halloween in the brewhouse at Devil's Backbone Brewing Company concocting a joint-effort doppelbock. Doppelbock is a classic, strong German winter lager. This effort, dubbed "Kollaborator," features ingredients from each brewer and plenty of camaraderie. Look for more information about this collaborative brew in December, once fermentation and maturation are complete. Availability will be limited to the pub at Devil's Backbone, near Wintergreen Resort. Upcoming Local Events

Reserve your spot now for the Virginia Tech Alumni Chapter of the NRV's Halloween Bash. The event takes place Friday Oct. 30th at the University Club, will feature Blacksburger Pils, and is limited to the first 250 guests. Proceeds go to fund scholarships supporting students from area high schools.

Also, don't forget to join us for Blacksburg's first ever beer festival, BrewDo, this Saturday from noon to 6pm. The event is organized by The Blacksburg Partnership, and Blacksburg Brewing Co. has helped them recruit as many VA breweries as possible. Downtown Tailgate (with beer!) VT vs. Nebraska

For the first time in decades (thanks to the Downtown Merchants of Blacksburg) beer will be served on College Ave! Come celebrate with Blacksburg Brewing Company at the Downtown Tailgate. The event takes place on September 18th, from 6-9pm (Friday evening prior to the VT vs. Nebraska game). There's no better beer with which to commemorate this historic event than Blacksburger Pils. Young Alumni Reunion Tailgate @ VT

The best tailgate parties serve Blacksburger Pils. Join BBC Brewmaster, John Bryce (VT class of 2001) for a special tailgate party featuring Blacksburger Pils on the lawn of the Holtzman Alumni Center, September 12 from 9:30am to Noon. Microfestivus

Roanoke's annual beer festival, Microfestivus, follows the recent release of Blacksburger Pils in the Roanoke market. Join Blacksburg Brewing Company, as well as other regional breweries and national brands on Saturday, August 8, 2009, from 12 P.M. to 6 P.M. @ Elmwood Park in downtown Roanoke.

Virginia Beer Festival in Richmond

Join us for the 2nd annual Virginia Beer Festival in Richmond.
