Virginia Beer Festival in Richmond

Star City Gets Blacksburger Pils

Blacksburger Pils was released in Roanoke this week. Currently, Blacksburger Pils can be found at Rockfish, Montano's, and The Hotel Roanoke. New accounts will be added to the Retailers page as they are opened.

Summer Solstice Fest in Blacksburg

Brew Ridge Festival at Mountain Lake

Blacksburg Brewing Co. will be on site with Blacksburger Pils at the Mountain Lake Brew Ridge Festival this Saturday, May 9th.

Expansion Project Announced

The brewery has been operating at max capacity since the late January launch of Blacksburger Pils, with first quarter sales exceeding projections. The first expansion project, which will add fermentation capacity to the brewery, is expected to reach completion in May. No additional retail accounts can be opened until the project is complete.

The BBC online merchandise store is still under construction, but is nearing completion. A soft e-commerce launch in the coming weeks will release Blacksburger Pils signature glassware for sale, soon followed by tap handles, apparel, and other BBC merchandise.

Blacksburger Pils Available Now

The first drafts of Blacksburger Pils were served at local establishments in a limited release yesterday, Friday January 23rd.

Small crowds gathered at both Souvlaki and The Cellar to be among the first tasters and celebrate the return of Blacksburg Brewing Co. The Cellar served more than 100 half liter pours in just a few hours, polishing off its first keg around midnight. Additional retail outlets are expected to receive shipments of Blacksburger Pils this week.

Re-launch Progress

The release of Blacksburger Pils is ~3 weeks away. Beer will be available draft-only in Blacksburg area bars and restaurants. The retailers page will be updated to reflect availability once beer is released. The BBC website is still under construction - this news feed and the merchandise page are not yet complete. Look for beer and more updates in late January.

Installation nearing completion

Despite many delays, the brewery installation is nearing completion. Test brews are expected to begin within 3-5 weeks in anticipation of a fall sales beer release. The BBC website is also undergoing redesign in preparation for the fall beer release.

Bryce Receives Diploma

On June 6th BBC founder, John Bryce, received a diploma from Versuchs- und Lehranstalt fur Brauerei in Berlin awarding him the title Brewmaster VLB. Work will resume at the Roanoke site upon his return from Berlin next week.
